Rueam An Re, the traditional welcome dance, is a distinctive folk dance of the Khmer-Surin people, performed to welcome honored guests, at weddings, and during major festivals.
The dance is characterized by graceful movements accompanied by lively Kantruem music. Performers wear colorful traditional costumes with authentic silver ornaments.
The Office of Arts and Culture has sent a Rueam An Re troupe to perform at international cultural events in 10 countries, receiving warm reception and inspiring Surin youth to take greater interest in folk performing arts.
