Surin silk and Phahole cloth are world-renowned handicrafts that reflect the wisdom and cultural identity of the Khmer-Surin people, passed down for hundreds of years.
Phahole is an intricate tie-dye woven cloth where each piece takes months to complete. Its unique patterns indicate the weaver's origin and social standing. It has been registered as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Office of Arts and Culture organizes silk and Phahole weaving workshops for community youth to preserve this weaving tradition, while promoting it as a 5-star OTOP product of Surin Province.
